The Best Horse Podcasts for Horse First Equestrians
The Best Horse Podcasts for Horse First Equestrians

I LOVE tuning into a podcast while driving to the barn, or picking manure. This post is my list of the best horse podcasts for horse-first equestrians. If you want the best podcasts for making your horse bend to your will or doing whatever it takes to win your next barrel race, you won’t find what you are looking for here.
However, if you want to learn how to deepen your connection, train with consent, and take fantastic care of your equine, you’re going to love this list.
When I go to listen to a podcast as I get in my car, I ask the universe to send me the perfect content to raise my awareness. “Send me the perfect theme to focus on during my session with the horses today.”
The Universe provides over and over again with the perfect wisdom from incredible creators. Here are some of my favorite equestrian podcasters that I come back to time and time again.
The Holistic Horsemanship and Husbandry Podcast
I might be a bit biased, but this one is my very favorite because... it’s mine. I co-host with horsemanship mentor and author Cindy Hartzell. We talk about horse ownership through a holistic view.
It’s an honest look at developing a mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally healthy horse while doing the same for yourself. We share stories of our clients and our own experiences, talking about issues from a totally new perspective.

The Emotional Horsemanship Podcast
Lockie Phillips is changing the way the world approaches horse training. He’s upending the narrative of performance over relationship that the traditional horse world is so deeply attached to.
His podcast is an invitation to put connection, stability, and safety before obedience and results.
His guests are top-notch, and their conversations bend my brain and open my heart in the most incredible ways. Highly recommend!

Straight From The Horse Doctor’s Mouth Podcast
Dr. Erica Lacher and her partner, Justin Long, are doing amazing work educating owners about horse health. Horse vets are chronically overworked and underpaid. They aren’t educators, and it’s not their job to be so!
However, many owners lack the education needed to make informed decisions about their horse’s care. This is a huge issue. Dr. Lacher and Justin are hard at work trying to bridge the gap.
Every horse owner should tune into their podcast.

Dear Horse World
Noelle Floyd is a big dang deal in the horse world. She has built an impressive platform that educates 1000s of horse owners.
Her Dear Horse World podcast largely speaks to competitors who have been taught to put the sport before the horse.
Today, most competitors would say they would never put the sport before the horse. However, harmful habits and mindsets linger in their subconscious. Competition with horses won’t be ethical until these are brought forward and cleared away.
Noelle speaks to many of those issues compassionately and curiously.

The Journey On Podcast
Warwick Schiller is an excellent example of the change we want to see in the horse world. He is a rough and tough cowboy turned awakened and accountable horsemanship mentor.
His online membership has helped thousands of horse owners redefine their relationship with their horses. His podcast invites all horse owners on a journey of personal growth.
I love turning in and hearing from the guest experts he brings on to help us along on our journeys.

The Whole Horse Podcast
Alexa Linton is a powerful presence in the horse world. She champions the unridden horse, the deeply loved horse, the horse owner who wants to love their horse and feel that that is enough.
The horse person who wants to unapologetically care for their equine despite what anyone else thinks.
This is such an important conversation in the horse world. Alexa facilitates it with love and grace, leaving lots of room for personal reflection and growth as you listen.

The Humble Hoof
Alicia Harlov has done incredible things for the hoof care industry. Horse owners are chronically undereducated about hoof health and don’t know how to advocate for their horses’ feet.
Alica is working hard to bring horse owners up to speed. She’s interviewed most of the top hoof and hoof adjacent experts in the horse industry, some of them twice!
I want to note that my hoof knowledge and education differ widely from Alicia’s, but I still heavily promote her podcast.
I hope that you learn from us both because we both have a lot of value to share and will both continue to change and evolve as more scientific evidence becomes available.
