A good pumpkin pie spice mix recipe is essential for any homestead kitchen in the fall. The pumpkin pie spice mix you get at the store is… pretty darn basic (it’s mostly cinnamon). If you want to add delicious complexity and depth to your fall baking this year, this recipe is the ticket! I use it in coffees, breads, muffins, desserts, and pasta sauces.

What’s In It

  • Cinnamon for love and abundance

  • Cloves for welcoming the new season and protection

  • Nutmeg for clarity and strength

  • Ginger for deeper awareness and strength

  • Black Pepper for deeper intuition and releasing what’s not needed

  • Allspice for motivation and ease in movement

  • Cardamom for courage and confidence

All together, that’s a powerful mix that is supportive in many ways (and absolutely delicious). Fall is such a busy time of year for us. This is one small way you can support yourself energetically and physically.

The Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon

  • 1 tsp Cloves

  • 1 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp Ginger

  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp Allspice

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a glass jar.

  2. Shake your jar while infusing it with your intentions for fall.

  3. Use whenever you need some pumpkin pie spice.

Notes

I love cleansing my jar with incense and turning this into a little ritual to welcome the energies of fall into my home.
