Nothing feels better than knowing your horse is thriving because of the care you provide.

You might sense that something is missing in your horse’s daily life. Perhaps you’re unsure what needs to change, or maybe you’re concerns have been brushed off. Those stress behaviors, stiffness, or tension are “normal” and nothing to worry about.
Pacing, pinning ears, nipping, weaving, and shutting down are all signs of stress. Limited movement, hours without food, and social isolation are not your horse’s vision of top-tier care.
Stress behaviors aren’t “quirks” or “personality problems,” and they won’t be fixed with more training.
The horse world has normalized these struggles but they don't have to be normal for your horse!
If you want a happy, healthy horse, their daily life must meet their physical, mental, and emotional needs. Your job is to understand how to provide movement, proper diet, social connection, hoof health, and a loving relationship with you.
That’s exactly what Guardian of the Herd helps you do. I’ve helped care for over 250 horses in the last decade. I’ll help you see the root causes of your horse’s struggles and build a management plan that actually works for them (even if you board).
Together, we’ll create a life where your horse can soften, settle, and thrive under your care.

I lost my first horse to a totally preventable colic. The highly regarded professionals I entrusted to care for him should have known better but, ultimately it was my fault for not educating myself.
That day, I vowed never to outsource my horses’ care decisions again.
Thankfully, I didn’t give up. Today, my mare MJ lives a happy species-appropriate life. Her mental, emotional, and physical needs are met. I get to enjoy trail rides, meditation, and quality time without stressing about her behavior or care.
I don’t own property and have had to get creative to build this life for her. You can learn to do the same.
It’s time to stop overlooking minor health issues and stress behaviors and do something about them.
In Guardian of the Herd, you’ll gain the confidence to make decisions that truly support your horse’s well-being.
Drawing on a decade of experience caring for horses in a wide range of circumstances, I’m here to help you become the capable advocate your horse needs. I’ve seen firsthand how changing a horse’s environment and daily care can completely transform their quality of life. Every horse deserves that chance.
This isn’t just about learning what you’re doing wrong. It’s about giving you the tools, knowledge, and support to create simple, sustainable changes that make a massive difference in your horse’s life.
You’re not just learning how to care for your horse. You’re becoming a guardian who can help them in any situation.

When you give a horse a species-appropriate life, you often end up spending less because you cut out overpriced gimmicks that don’t work. However, horses are expensive. There is no way to take care of them well without spending some dough. You don’t have to have $30k for top-of-the-line fencing, but you will need a few hundred dollars here and there and be willing to put in some elbow grease.
I post the recording in the membership. You can submit questions or a video for review to me ahead of time. I’ll go over what you submit as if you are there, and you can watch it on your own time.
Doesn’t matter! If you love them and want the best for them, you are 100% welcome.
Being able to read your horse, respond to their stress behaviors, and set them up for an amazing life at home does wonders for your competitive advantage. However, this group is horse first. If you look for quick fixes over long-term solutions, ride through stress behaviors or pain, and ignore signs of distress, this isn’t for you.
We have SO many better options than a nail-on-metal shoe in the modern horse world. Going barefoot is a process (that I would be delighted to support you in). However, to be successful, you need to be willing to want it for your horse. It doesn’t work when owners want it to be quick and easy. I can’t advise on improving hoof health if your horse will remain shod.
Yes! A HUGE part of being a good guardian is knowing why your horse is behaving the way they are and having the tools to address it. I use a mix of positive reinforcement and pressure and release with the goal of never using escalating pressure. Although admittedly, I’m still working on removing escalating pressure completely from my tool bag.
All training and behavioral advice is for everyday handling and working with your horse on the ground. There is no discussion of ridden work in Guardian of the Herd.
